Audi Cross Coupe at the 2008 Melbourne Motor Show

The Cross Coupé quattro combines the dynamics of a compact premium sports car with the spaciousness and versatility of a four-seat SUV.

Painted in “Liquid Silver” and propped up on 20”³ wheels was the Audi Cross Coupé quattro. Audi say the Cross Coupe combines the dynamics of a compact premium sports car with the spaciousness and versatility of a four-seat SUV. There is even a hint of convertible with a folding fabric roof that opens up the entire length of the car.

Power is the responsibility of a transversely installed four-cylinder inline TDI engine with, common-rail fuel injection and piezo injectors. Fuel economy is extraordinary with a claimed average usage of 5.9 litres per 100km.

The Cross Coupé quattro’s drivetrain features three settings, dynamic, sport and efficiency. When ‘efficiency’ is selected, engine mapping and shift points are modified for economical driving and the system deactivates energy-hungry components such as the air-conditioning compressor.
