While we can’t argue with that logic its fair to say that few Australian enthusiasts will be complaining, we have enough over-powered FWD cars in this country as it is. The first rear wheel drive Alfa to hit the streets will be the limited edition 8C Competizione the car that is currently spear-heading the return of Alfa Romeo to the States.

Speculation is rife that the next Alfa 169 Luxury sedan will be based on a rear-wheel-drive Maserati platform – with unofficial reports claiming that other future Alfa Romeo models will also be based on RWD platforms.

If the reports are true then it heralds a return to the Alfa of old without the rust and dodgy electrics. For those who live in fear of oversteer there is always Fiat.
