WITH THE MERCEDES-BENZ C-Class only recently updated for the 2010 model year, TMR's artists have cast their nets beyond the current model to produce the first renderings of how the next-generation C-Class might look.

Inspired by the F800 Style Concept revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, these new renderings offer a glimpse of Mercedes' new flowing design language as it might look in production form.

While Mercedes is doubtless already working on the next incarnation of the popular C-Class, little is known of its technical and styling details at this early stage.

Reports out of Europe in recent months suggest that BlueTEC diesel-electric hybrid models will figure strongly in the C-Class line-up, as with upcoming E300 BlueTEC.

The F800 concept is designed to accommodate a range of powertrain options, including an S400-like plug-in hybrid system producing 300kW and offering an all-electric driving range of 30 kilometres.

An AMG-enhanced performance model will likely feature as well, powered by the in-house tuner's new 5.5 litre V8 engine revealed earlier this month.
