2011 RENAULT LAGUNA

Renault has revealed its updated-for-2011 Renault Laguna hatch and estate ahead of its Paris Auto Show debut later this month.

The online reveal of the updated Laguna follows Renault Australia's announcement that it will bring the all-new Megane Hatch to local roads this month, to be followed by the Hatch's RenaultSport variants and the stylish Megane Coupe-Cabriolet.

Updates to the Laguna are focused on modernising the front-end, including an all-new front bumper and revised headlights.

The interior of the 2011 Laguna also benefits from a light update, including a premium-look stitched dash for certain trim levels, and subtle revisions to the centre stack.

The French carmaker remains tight-lipped on technical specifications for now, although it has revealed that the updated Laguna's engine line-up will include an updated 1.5 litre diesel engine producing 82kW.

It's unclear if this engine will be offered in Australia, with the current local line-up powered by 2.0 litre petrol (125kW) and diesel (110kW) plants.

An Australian launch for the updated Laguna has yet to be confirmed.

Renault Australia Managing Director Rudi Koenig confirmed with TMR today that the company is set to make an announcement at next month's Australian International Motor Show that will outline its plans for 2011, including whether the recently-revealed Latitude will debut in Australia, and whether the Laguna and Latitude can live side-by-side.
