Looking like a mutated, two-seat go-kart, the KTM X-Bow has come in for an overhaul, utilising Audi's S3-powering 2.0 litre TFSI to boost power from 177kW to 225kW.
With a makeover that includes a set of air-channeling teeth in its front wing, the new and more powerful car has been dubbed the KTM X-Bow R.
Weighing in at 790kg, two versions of the X-Bow R will be available: the first is a 'Sport' package designed to be homologated for road use, and the second is the track-oriented 'Race' pack.
The X-Bow R benefits from a lower ride height, along with a lower-mounted engine designed to increase cornering speeds and stability.
While the power gains are specific to the X-Bow R, owners of the regular X-Bow can get their hands on many of the R's parts through KTM's PowerParts catalogue.
With the X-Bow R still undergoing testing, pricing and availability has yet to be revealed.
