Hyundai has wasted no time growing its i45 line-up, with these spy photos revealing that development of the 2011 Hyundai i45 wagon is nearing completion.

In the US at least, the i45 wagon will one of three main variants in the i45 range, joining the recently-launched sedan and the Hyundai i45/Sonata Blue Drive hybrid (currently under review for an Australian launch).

Spied testing in Germany, the i45 wagon is expected to get an international launch early next year, giving the sedan around a year in the sun before being joined by the wagon.

Hyundai has yet to reveal any details for its latest model, but engine options are likely to mirror those offered with the sedan - in Australia, that will mean the 2.4 litre DOHC Theta II engine, paired with a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual.

The Korean brand's Australian arm has demonstrated its readiness to offer wagon variants. The i30cw is a strong seller, but the likelihood of the i45 wagon coming to Australia will depend strongly on the sedan's success over the coming year.
