Audi has released a trio of teaser illustrations for its Geneva-bound A3 Sedan concept, revealing a first look at the styling of the next-generation A3.

Although the illustrations depict a sedan variant, the front-end design cues of the hatch - and a potential production sedan - are likely to be identical, including the sharp new headlight styling found across the current Audi line-up.

The illustrations also hint at an even more aggressive styling than the lines suggested in TMR's own artist renderings last year.

Described as a 'notchback' sedan, the concept measures just 4440mm long - some 155mm longer than the current five-door hatch, and a mere 80mm longer than the BMW 1 Series Coupe.

Like many of its latest models, Audi's new concept features a coupe-like roofline, with a flowing profile design and low-cut C-pillars.

Previewing a potential hi-po RS model, the A3 concept is powered by Audi's five-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, producing 300kW - 50kW up on the turbocharged five-cylinder driving the current top-spec RS 3 - with power sent to the quattro all-wheel-drive system through Audi's seven-speed S tronic transmission.

The next-generation A3 is expected to make its international production debut in the second half of 2012. Audi has yet to confirm a production future for a sedan version of the A3.
