SUZUKI IS SET to reveal a redesigned 2010 Suzuki Alto at next month's Tokyo Motor Show, despite the current model being only a year old.

More of an evolution of the current design, Suzuki announced today that the Alto it displays next month will be a near-production model.

Visually, the new Alto is separated from the current generation most obviously by a straighter belt line and a larger rear passenger window.

Smaller headlights sit atop a higher front end than that of the current model, and a small letterbox intake now sits above the Suzuki badge.

Inside is where the new Micra gets the biggest makeover, with a brand-new and completely restyled dash and door trims filling out the cabin.

As the Tokyo Motor Show display car is described as 'near-production', the new Alto might arrive in Suzuki showrooms a little less 'showy' than it appears here.

Suzuki has not confirmed exactly when the new Alto will be available, or which markets it will be offered in. Given the only very recent launch of the current model locally, it's possible Australia may not see this update for some time, if at all.
