SUBARU AUSTRALIA has today announced the launch of the 2010 Liberty Exiga in Australia, available now and starting from $37,490.
Built on the same platform underpinning the new Liberty, the Australian-delivered Exiga offers six seats over three rows.
The Exiga is powered by Subaru's 2.5 litre EJ25 'flat four' and paired to a Lineartronic CVT automatic gearbox and all-wheel-drive system.
Subaru says the adaptive control system in its Lineartronic CVT helps select the optimum gear to suit driving style and road conditions, while its chain-type layout offers enhanced torque delivery and better economy than belt-type CVTs.
Subaru Australia's newest offering produces 123kW at 5600rpm and 229Nm of torque at 4000rpm.
Fuel economy is listed at 8.6 l/100km, emitting 202g/km of CO2.
Sitting on a stretched 2750mm version of the Liberty platform, the Exiga is also 125mm taller than its Liberty sibling.
Arranged in a 'theatre' layout, the Exiga's three rows are positioned progressively higher toward the rear of the cabin for increased visibility.
The new double-wishbone rear suspension allows more third-row passenger space and greater storage capacity.
Two grades are offered. Speaking to its family-mover duties, the Liberty Exiga 2.5i features a DVD entertainment system as standard.
The Liberty Exiga 2.5i Premium adds leather trim, satellite navigation, reversing camera, Bluetooth compatibility, eight-way power front seats and 17-inch alloy rims.
For safety, the Exiga has been awarded a 5-Star ANCAP crash safety rating, featuring Vehicle Dynamics Control and ESP as standard.
The Exiga features a full complement of airbags, including dual front, side and curtain airbags (extending to the third row).
