2010 Renaultsport Clio Gordini Launched In Australia

Following the overseas unveiling last year of its Twingo-based sibling, Renault Australia has this week launched the 2010 Renault Clio Gordini RS, a new limited-edition model inspired by the Amédée Gordini-tuned Renaults of decades past.

As with the Twingo version (not available in Australia), the Clio Gordini RS is set apart from the Clio RS range by a Malta Blue metallic finish. A pair of racing stripes over the roof maintain the link to the Gordini's racing heritage.

The Clio Gordini's aero components are largely identical to the Clio Renault Sport 200 Cup and Clio Renault Sport 200 Cup Trophee models already offered in Australia, with a number of basic colour changes.

The latest model in the Gordini line-up is powered by the same 148kW 2.0 litre naturally-aspirated engine found in the 200 Cup.

Different to the local Cup models however are the wheels, the Gordini model getting a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, featuring a polished face and black spoke-sides.

Behind the front wheels are red Brembo four-piston calipers. The RS also features ABS and Sports-tuned ESP, with six airbags as standard equipment.

The interior is again similar to the Cup models, featuring Renaultsport seats trimmed in dark grey leather with blue highlights and embossed with the Gordini emblem. There are a number of other small Gordini-specific highlights, including a plaque with the car's unique build number.

Features include an RS-specific display monitor, Renault Switchblade key, automatic lights and windscreen wipers, fog lights and cornering lights, cruise control with speed limiter, climate control, streaming audio bluetooth, 80W audio system and a multimedia connection box with auxiliary and USB connectivity.

Pricing and Availability

The 2011 Renault Clio Gordini RS will be on sale from September 20, with a Manufacturer's List Price of $39,140 - excluding dealer delivery and on-road costs.
