2010 Nissan R35 GT-R Headed Back To The ‘Ring

It's old news now that Nissan is preparing to release a Series II R35 GT-R. While not all the updates will be welcomed by everyone, such as the lack of launch control, there appears to be enough tweaking to warrant a return trip to the Nurburgring.

Perchance there's more to the rumoured suspension revisions and change in tyre compounds than first thought? The tiny increase of five 'horses' (3.7kW) is unlikely to make a marked difference, so Nissan must have something up its sleeve in order to justify the trip.

Manufacturer's efforts at the Nordeschliefe have taken on new meaning since Nissan's one-sided but much publicised battle with Porsche for track supremacy. With both having since been eclipsed by the Corvette ZR1 and the Dodge Viper ACR, the battle has never been harder fought.

There's a good chance Nissan already knows it can shave a few tenths off with the Series II car. While that's great for publicity, we're far more interested in seeing what the R35 GT-R Spec-V can really do.
