OFFICIAL PHOTOS of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate have made their way online, however specific details for the new wagon have yet to be released.

Mercedes-Benz has previously confirmed that the E-Class Estate will launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, arriving in Australia in late February/early March next year.

Powertrain options for the E-Class Estate have not been confirmed, but will likely mirror those of the outgoing wagon.

As such, everything from the turbodiesel V6 in the E280 CDI, the E350's petrol V6 and the E500's 5.5 litre petrol V8 should be available, with a performance-oriented E63 AMG Estate likely to appear further down the track.

It is not clear whether the frugal BlueEfficiency diesel engines set to be introduced to the local E-Class range (read our first drive here) will be available in the wagon.

A cabriolet version of the E-Class coupe is expected to accompany the new E-class Estate to Australia, with engines anticipated to mirror those of the CLK Cabriolet it replaces - albeit without the AMG variants.

Like the E-Class Coupe, the E-Class Cabrio will likely make use of at least one high-efficiency diesel engine.

More precise details and pricing will be revealed as the local launch date draws nearer.
