It's the whopper-burger of bikes friends; it's Jabba the Hutt, it is to motorcycles what the whale is to the trout.

It does, as Triumph claims, "stand alone in a class of one thanks to its striking looks, stunning performance and incredible specification". In case you are unaware, the Rocket III is the world's largest-capacity production motorcycle.

The thing is friends, you don't need to be whale-size yourself to ride it. With a low centre of gravity and good ground clearance, each in the Rocket III range offers good road manners and dynamics in one of the most striking cruiser packages around.

The 2009 Triumph Rocket III comes with a choice of Phantom Black or Claret livery. (Sorry captain, no Moby Dick White available.)

2009 Rocket III Classic

The 2009 Rocket III Classic offers a more relaxed riding position with forward-set footboards, pull-back handlebars and a supremely comfortable stitched touring seat as standard.

Colour choices for the Classic are Pacific Blue and Aluminium Silver combo with a gold coach line.

2009 Rocket III Touring

The Rocket III Touring has been designed for long distances - it's your pan-Oz cruiser friends with increased torque of 209Nm @ just 2000rpm for effortless get-away cruising (and 79kW @ 5400rpm).

With cruising comfort a priority, the Rocket III Touring seat is constructed with two separate layers of cushioning of different densities; the passenger getting the extra benefit of a gel pad to (in Triumph's words) "make sure the bike is as comfortable 500 miles later as it was when you set off".

A quick-release 'look-over' screen comes as standard, as do quick-release 36 litre (10 US gallons) colour-matched panniers.

Is the Rocket III range LAMS approved? (Git over here and I'll slap your head son.)

Ride on friends. The Dirk.
