The Nissan Z cars are firm favourites here at The Motor Report. I know that Mike would probably sell one of his kidneys - and definitely yours - for a 240Z. Several of our contributors rock out in more modern Zeds, and have no plans to part with them. How can you not love a curvaceous coupe with a torquey six-cylinder and a 'proper' sports car layout with the engine at the front and the power going to the back?

The current 350Z is getting a bit long in the tooth now, and to be quite frank, its performance is not on-par with its 2008 competitors. We're all waiting with baited breath for the replacement, especially with all the rumours that the car is going to be more nimble than the current model.

The fact that Nissan - fresh from its victory over Porsche at the 'Ring in the AWD Turbo six-cylinder class, has publicly stated that the next Z has the class-leading Cayman S in its crosshairs - has given us all goosebumps. People were sceptical that Nissan could deliver on its promise to have the flagship GT-R match the hallowed 911 Turbo around the most challenging race track in the world. They delivered. If Nissan walks the walk with the upcoming 370Z, Nissan might also claim the 'best sports car under $100,000' to go with its sub-$200,000 crown.

If, like us, you are loving the resurgence of the more affordable RWD corner-carvers, then hopefully these new pics of the 370Z from the official movie trailer for the upcoming Need for Speed: Undercover driving game, will tide you over till you can try one on for size.
