As expected, Mitsubishi has lifted the lid on the Lancer Sportback and Ralliart Lancer models at the 2008 Australian International Motor Show. We’ve covered both of these cars extensively, such as here, here, and whaddya know, here, and are looking forward to getting behind the wheel.
The sportback’s base model will find power courtesy of a 2.0 and 2.4-litre petrol four cylinder, as well as the model which ensures Steane will handle the roadtest: a 2.0 litre turbo diesel.
The Sportback Ralliart, which runs an updated version of the all-wheel-drive system from the Lancer Evolution IX - will be powered by the same 2.0 litre turbo MIVEC engine found in the Evo X, electronically de-tuned to 177kW and offering 321Nm of torque.
