New MG TF headlines MG car club celebration

It’s fair to say that the Chinese don’t muck around when it comes to building cars, at least not the chaps at Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC) as the ‘new again’ MG TF rolls of the production line and becomes the star attraction at the 57th annual MG Car Club celebration.

The new MG TF is due to officially begin volume production until later this year when MG’s Longbridge UK plant comes on stream for the second time, this time around under the watchful eyes of the new owner NAC.

It is believed that the new TF will feature many new engineering and cosmetic changes to assist its showroom performance. You must remember that the MG TF was from a model cycle perspective on its last legs when production ceased a few years ago, so any improvement to the old car will be a welcome one.

“The public response to the new TF has been fantastic. This car represents a fresh new addition to the UK sports car market, and judging by the reaction at Silverstone over the weekend this car looks set to enjoy a healthy sales success here in the UK”, says Gary Hagen, Sales & Marketing Director for NAC MG (UK) Ltd.

According to Hagen the new TF has undergone extensive re-engineering and is a decidedly different proposition to the previous TF. He believes that they have created a highly desirable sports car that will not disappoint the British public.

We should see the new MG TF hit UK showrooms later this year in what so far appears to be a remarkable turnaround for a marque recently thought to be lost forever.
