BMW E92 M3 sedan snapped testing at the Nurburgring

Hot on the heels of the news that Audi may have ceased production of their RS4 sedan comes a sensational spy-shot from the guys at Pistonheads.com of the BMW M3 sedan testing at the Nurburgring.

With the official launch of the M3 coupe taking place next month it is expected that the sedan and convertible will follow in 2008. Pistonheads.com are tipping that we will see the M3 sedan at the Detroit Motor Show and the Convertible at the Geneva Motor Show.

Pistonheads.com also suggested that a Touring (wagon) version of the M3 may be ‘in the wings’ and undergoing testing out of the public eye in case BMW decide not to introduce it. BMW brass are closely watching customer interest in the recently released M5 Touring before giving the M3 Touring the green light.

It seems hard to believe that Audi would consider ceasing production of their RS4 sedan just as BMW put the finishing touches to their four-door M3.
