While forums and chat rooms run white-hot with speculation about Lamborghini’s mysterious new model, the Italian producer has been kind enough to add another teaser image to the gallery.

Slated for a hotly anticipated reveal at the Paris Motor Show next month, the speculation that this model would be Lamborghini’s take on a four-door GT may now be dead in the water.

While the new teaser image reveals little beyond an exquisite wheel, tyre and brake package, the existence of the side vent, adorned with Italian livery, suggests a front engine configuration. This bodes well for a four-door saloon, but a Lamborghini insider has claimed that the comments leading to the four-door rumours are “simply educated speculation” (He might have meant “uneducated” there, folks).

Combining the Lamborghini badge, a front engine layout, a base-model V8 option, and Audi A8 underpinnings certainly seems like a recipe for serious sales. Whether we’ll see it with two or four doors remains to be seen - not many sleeps now until October 2nd - but we won’t be surprised if there’s two more seats than we’re used to seeing behind that venerable Lambo shield.
