When it comes to new models in the spirit of the Camaro, the performance range topper is always going to garner the most attention. Sure, we can appreciate the LS and LT versions, and we’re even partial to the RS appearance package, but the king of the hill is definitely the hotrod SS model, and thanks to the magic of the internet, we’ve got some great new pics for you ponder.

It is unlikely that that the SS will transform into a massive robot and help you ’get the babe’, but with 315kW on tap and sharp styling, it is guaranteed to turn some heads.  Featuring the General’s Tremec six-speed manual shifter, the SS will be one of a handfull of cars on the short-list for the ’serious’ modern muscle-car buyer in the U.S. It may even go some way to rekindling a fascination with V8-powered RWD vehicles in the States (not an issue in Australia…yet).
