Chevrolet Camaro Sales Brochure Leaked

Chevrolet_Camaro

We’ve all seen the production-trim Camaro images by now, but a leaked sales brochure has spilled the beans on practically every juicy detail for the soon-to-be-released Pony Car. The brochure outlines everything from trim specifications to engine and gearbox combinations and we’ve got it all right here.

Coming in LS, LT and SS ‘flavours’, the base model LS and LT variants will receive the 3.6 litre 223kW direct-injection V6 and either the Aisin six-speed manual or Hydra-Matic 6L50 six-speed automatic, complete with flappy paddles.

The range topping SS will come exclusively with V8 power (as it should) and can be fitted with either a beefed up Tremec six-speed or the same six-speed auto that the V6s will make do with. Interestingly, Chevrolet offers two different V8s depending upon the gearbox selection. Owners opting for the manual will receive a slightly more powerful 6.2L LS3 engine with around 315kWs. Auto lovers will take a 15kW penalty and receive the 300kW L99 engine instead.

Perhaps the most impressive information is that four-pot Brembo brakes are to be offered as standard on the SS model. Lesser models can likely option the stoppers. It’s about time GM offered something in the way of performance braking for big RWD V8s - Holden please take note.

There is plenty more information to be gleaned from these pages so have a browse and enjoy the Camaro goodness.

This car might make me sell my current car.

Love the Camaro.

I’m a fan of the new iteration for sure. It has nothing to do with the Transformers movie I swear ;)

I’ll take one in yellow with black stripes please — oh, and with Megan Fox in the passenger seat :D

I’ve linked to this article on http://DriveCritic.com/

Totally agreed. It is one of only a handful of new cars this classic car nut would buy here and now in 2008. But perhaps I’ll hold out for one of the inevitable limited editions (if the Mustang is any guide, there will be about 124 of them).

My only gripe is this… with such a rich palette of muscle car colors to choose from, why swathe the brochure in boring old silver? This ain’t a Mercedes Benz, yo! Silver is played out. Let’s see Daytona Yellow or Hugger Orange; not sure what’s going on with Rally Yellow and Inferno Orange here. Heritage, people!

Make mine a Rallye Green Z/28 with white stripes.

Its true. Silver does not photograph well. I know - my car is silver. Looks great in metal, but I struggle to find a good backdrop for it when I try to photograph it.

What I’ve found is your traditional “hero” colours tend to look great in photos and when they’re first release, but date quickly.
