Land Rover has issued a recall for its Defender off-roader this week, due to a potential problem with the front braking system.

Selected examples from the 2015 model-year may be susceptible to a front brake hose leak due to chafing, which could cause the brake fluid level to drop.

Drivers may notice the brake pedal travelling further than usual upon stopping, and continued loss of brake fluid may cause the warning light to illuminate and a loss of braking performance.

Land Rover reminds owners that a similar recall has already been issued for this condition, but more vehicles are now on the list for Australia.

Kia has recalled its Sportage and Sorento SUVs from the 2011 model-year, due to a potential problem with a fuel feed hose.

The hose may be susceptible to premature wear, and a fuel leak may occur should the problem persist.

Leaking fuel could create a fire hazard. Around 100 vehicles are on the recall list for Australia.

Hyundai has recalled its Santa Fe SUV this week, due to a potential problem with the bonnet latch.

The latch cable may corrode over time, meaning the bonnet’s secondary safety latch may not be active when the bonnet is closed.

Should this occur, the bonnet may not be safely latched. While driving, the bonnet may come lose and fly up in front of the windscreen.

Affected models were sold in Australia between April 2012 and July last year.

The relevant carmaker will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
