Lotus has peeled back the covers on its most powerful road-going car yet, unveiling the sinister Evora GT430 as a strictly limited edition.

The two-seat GT430 is capable of a 0-100 km/h dash of just 3.6 seconds thanks to an uprated supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 320kW and 440Nm - up 14kW and 30Nm compared to the Evora 410 that sits ahead of it in the range - backed by a six-speed manual transmission.

In typical Lotus fashion the GT430 also demonstrates the British sportscar manufacturer’s lightweight engineering expertise, with a kerb weight of 1299kg (1258kg dry weight) thanks to a new titanium exhaust and carbon fibre body panels including the front and rear bumpers

Larger front apertures, new carbon fibre splitter, air blades and louvers combined with a bigger rear diffuser and large carbon fibre wing increase the Evora's aerodynamics.

A bespoke suspension tune for the GT430 sees Lotus-tuned Ohlins adjustable dampers paired with Eibach springs, contributing 10kg to the GT420’s overall weight reduction with 26kg pared out of the car overall.

To help get power down the Evora GT430 also comes standard with a limited slip differential, and massive 10.5-inch wide rear wheels with 295/30 R20 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres at the back and 245/35 R19 tyres on 9.5-inch wide rims up front.

Adjustable stability and traction control systems have also been enhanced thanks to a newly developed variable traction control function with five pre-set levels of wheel slip freeing up 1, 3, 6, 9, or 12 percent of available traction in Race mode.

The inside has been decked out with carbon fibre highlights throughout including the front Sparco race seats, while buyers have the option of either Alcantara or leather upholstery, and the deleted touchscreen infotainment system can be optioned back in.

Lotus is only building 60 examples of the Evora GT430 for international markets.
