Maserati has issued a recall in Australia for its Levante SUV fitted with the turbo-diesel engine.

Examples from the 2016 and 2017 model-years may be susceptible to the failure of a short rubber hose, which services the vehicle’s intercooler.

Should this hose fail, the intercooler may not function as intended and the driver may notice a loss of power. Further, the ‘check engine’ light may illuminate in the instrument cluster.

A sudden loss of power may create a hazard for the vehicle occupants and other road users.

Maserati reports that 74 vehicles are on the recall list for Australia, but to date, no incidents have arisen from the issue.

The recall process will involve an inspection of the vehicle with any necessary repairs to be performed at no cost to owners.

Maserati will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
