Renault will unwrap an updated Captur small SUV at the Geneva Motor Show next week.

With 215,670 sales last year, the Captur was Europe’s best-selling B-segment crossover. However in Australia the Captur could only secure an 11th place ranking in the local small SUV segment.

While full details won’t be released until Geneva, Renault says the update brings a new upscale model variant, fresh looks inside and out, new colours, extra equipment and more personalisation possibilities.

On the styling front, Renault says the Captur’s updated looks bring it closer to the brand’s other crossover models - notably the larger Kadjar – with a new grille, extra chrome and available full LED Pure Vision headlights.

LED daytime running lights move to the front bumper and now form a C-shape (Renault’s brand light signature) and the LED rear lights adopt the same look.

Front and rear ends pick-up skid plates to enhance the SUV look and there are new-design 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the options list is a fixed glass panoramic roof.

New paint colours are Atacama Orange and Ocean Blue and there is a new roof colour called Platinum Gray. Renault says the Captur now offers 30 different colour combinations

In terms of personalisation, the updated Captur steps-up with six interior packs in Ivory, Ocean Blue, Caramel, Red, Satin Chrome and Patina Chrome and five exterior packs for the door panel strips and wheel bolts in Ivory, Ocean Blue, Cappuccino, Red and Atacama Orange.

No word yet on any possible changes to the powertrain. Renault will reveal details on Captur’s new-look upscale interior in Geneva.

Also no word yet on Australian plans but it’s likely the updated Renault Captur will arrive in local showrooms later this year.
