Now expected sometime later this year (or possibly next), Nissan has delayed the launch of the coming GT-R V-Spec; no official reason has yet been provided. Don’t cry yourself to sleep just yet though, Nissan will be releasing the GT-R ‘Evolution’ as a stop-gap measure to appease the masses in the meantime.

The ‘Evolution’ launch will apparently coincide with the August 20th release date for GT-R tuning parts from NISMO. At this stage we’re hearing the term ‘S-Tune’ thrown about, indicating that NISMO may continue to use the previous performance labels and that the ‘Evolution’ will most likely receive wheels and tyres, a revised ECU, a new exhaust system, upgraded suspension, and some additional aero components.

We’re counting down the sleeps until August 20th so rest assured we’ll have it covered when Nissan and NISMO spill the beans.
