Citroen’s Australian distributor has issued a recall for both the C4 hatch and related DS4 relating to a potential fault with the bonnet catch mechanism.

As a result of corrosion the bonnet striker may not function as designed, which could lead to the bonnet releasing without warning. The potential exists for the bonnet to fly open at speed increasing the risk of an accident.

The vehicles in question were sold between the 1st of June 2011 and the 31st of July 2015.

Citroen Automobiles Australia will attempt to contact affected owners by mail to organise an inspection and repair free of charge. Owners wishing to know more are advised to contact their local Citroen dealer.
