Land Rover has issued two separate recalls for its Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque models, but each concerns the same area of the car.

The lower control arm on each of the SUVs is the target of the recall, but the recalls concern the left- and right-hand side of the vehicle separately.

Just five Discovery Sports and six Range Rover Evoques are included in the right-hand-side recall, sold in Australia between March and August of last year.

For the left-hand side, four Discovery Sports and 12 Range Rover Evoques are included, sold between March and August 2016. All up, 27 vehicles are on the recall list in Australia.

Land Rover says the lower control arm may have been incorrectly attached to the knuckle joint in the front suspension.

Continued shocks while driving, including potholes and kerb-strikes, may cause front suspension components to fail.

Should this occur, the driver may experience a loss of control, causing a hazard for the vehicle occupants and other road-users.

Land Rover will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.

Subaru Expands Air Pump Relay Recall

A recall issued by Subaru in October last year for a potentially faulty air pump relay has been extended.

Previously, 22,276 vehicles were on the recall list but the revised figure is now 23,617.

Affected vehicles include the Subaru Liberty GT from model-years 2007-2009, the Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI from model-years 2009-2014 and the Subaru Forester XT from model-years 2009-2012.

All models are powered by Subaru’s turbocharged petrol engine.

Lexus Expands Takata Airbag Recall

Lexus is also reissuing an earlier recall for its IS models, and adding new variants to the list.

Previously, the model breakdown was as follows: 410 examples of the IS F, 1140 for the IS 250C, 1250 examples of the IS 350 and the bulk of the recalls are for the IS 250 variant with a tally of 18,950.

The new count reads (in addition to the earlier recall):

  • IS 250 - 565 vehicles
  • IS 250C - 260 vehicles
  • IS 350 - 1231 vehicles
  • IS F - 100 vehicles
  • LFA - 10 vehicles

Owners of these models wishing to learn more should contact their local dealer or phone the Lexus Customer Assistance Centre on 1800 023 009.
