Skoda’s Yeti compact SUV is now available with a new petrol engine, replacing the previous diesel option and making the Yeti a petrol-only affair in Australia.
The new model is the Yeti 4X4 Outdoor 110TSI, which as the name suggests, offers all-wheel-drive matched with a 110kW petrol engine.
Previously, the Outdoor was available with a 103kW/350Nm 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, but this model has been missing from the range for some time.
As the Outdoor returns to Australia, it remains the only AWD Yeti available to local buyers - this time powered by a 110kW/250Nm 1.4 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.
A six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic is the only transmission on offer, and the Outdoor 110TSI has an official fuel figure of 6.6 l/100km.
Otherwise, the styling of the previous Outdoor carries-over into this new petrol model, including ruggedised cladding for protection during light off-roading, 17-inch alloy wheels, silver roof rails and black bumpers.
Inside, there’s the Navi Pack afforded to all Yeti models in Australia, which includes satellite navigation, front parking sensors, front fog lights, privacy glass and a metallic or pearl paint finish.
There’s also climate control air conditioning, which is not available in the lesser 81TSI Yeti models in Australia.
The 2016 Skoda Yeti 4X4 Outdoor 110TSI is on sale now, priced from $32,990 which makes it $600 cheaper than the now-deleted diesel model.
