No more waiting for your car to be serviced, borrowing a replacement car from your dealer or finding public transport - Subaru is now rolling-out a mobile service van with technicians who can service your car at home, work, or just about any other convenient location.
Originally trialed on behalf of the Subaru dealer in the western Sydney suburb of Narellan, the service has been extended to Canberra, Wagga and Port Macquarie.
Service vans are planned to support ‘pop-up’ Subaru dealerships in Melbourne next year.
It’s all part of Subaru’s new ‘do things differently’ mantra and the company hopes to have 10 service vans on the road by the end of this year.
Corporate fleet customers, care-givers, and elderly Subaru owners have so far shown a keen interest in having their vehicles serviced at home or place of work. For corporates, the minimized disruption to work schedules is particularly appealing.
And far from reducing dealership interface with customers, the personal one-on-one relationship with the service vans technicians has been viewed positively by owners.
High-performance STI models and vehicles produced before 2012 cannot use the service van concept and the major 50,000kms service still requires a dealership visit.
“If you are not innovating in today’s world you’re probably falling behind, and as a brand known for innovation, it’s imperative for us to continue to roll out new ideas,” revealed Subaru Australia boss Colin Christie.
