A new flagship performance variant is set to join the 2017 Porsche Macan range from March next year, with more power and torque, and adjusted dynamics making this the most focussed performance Macan yet.
Officially titled the "Macan Turbo with Performance Package", the new variant turns up the wick on the current Macan Turbo’s 3.6 litre twin-turbo V6 to deliver 324kW of power and 600Nm of torque - an extra 30kW and 50Nm compared to the standard Turbo model.
The revised powertrain results in 0-100 km/h acceleration as fast as 4.0 seconds, with rolling acceleration from 80-120 km/h taking 2.9 seconds, or 0.4 and 0.2 second improvements over the Macan Turbo.
Performance Package cars aren’t just more powerful, with newly developed brakes featuring 390mm groved front-rotors (up 30mm) clamped by six-pistom calipers, lowered sports suspension, Porsche’s Sport Chrono package, and an active sports exhaust system fitted as standard.
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with adjustable air-suspension sits 25mm lower than a standard Macan, or 10mm lower than the Macan Turbo with air-suspension and PASM.
As with other members of the Macan range, the Turbo with Performance Package delivers its power to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Options available include the Turbo Exterior Package with 21-inch 911 Turbo design alloy wheels, LED headlights, and black highlights, while the Turbo Interior Package adds leather and Alcantara trim and carbon interior elements.
Pricing for the Macan Turbo with Performance Package starts from $143,500 plus on-roads. Orders are now open, with customer deliveries expected to begin March next year.
