BMW has issued a recall in Australia regarding a potential breakage risk concerning the ISOFIX child restraint anchorages fitted to its X3 and X4 range.

Vehicles concerned were offered for sale in Australia from the start of September, 2010 until the end of April, 2016.

The recalls notice describes the potential for the ISOFIX brackets to break as a result of vibration stress, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

A total of 17,894 vehicles are being recalled. BMW will attempt to contact affected owners owners by mail, but any owner wishing to know more is advised to contact BMW’s Customer Interaction Centre on 1800 813 299
