While the US may be sharing some of our good fortune when it comes to V8-powered RWD vehicles, they’re still patiently awaiting the arrival of the hottest thing headed their way from our lineup: the Pontiac G8 GXP. The wait may not be over just yet, but at least we’ve got some pics to share—even if they are on our soil, it’s better than nothing, right?
Snapped by one keen-eyed contributor over at LS1.com.au, the 300kW Pontiac will come with the General’s LS3 6.2L V8, 19″ wheels, and Brembo brakes. More importantly though, there will now be the option for a 6-speed manual—which has the Yanks chomping at the bit. The GXP is further differentiated from the standard G8 by the addition of a front splitter and a large rear diffuser to show it means business.

Though this is a pre-production car, there’s a good chance what you see is damn close to the real deal. So what’s the verdict, guys? Is the SS-V a better looker, or would you prefer to roll in the GXP?

So if I understand correctly, that sign on the back is telling me that it’s left hand drive.
That’s a pretty keen observation but yes I think you’re on to something =D
i hate to say it, but the pontiac looks much nicer, maybe we will see a changing trend from people putting chevvy badges on commodores to now putting these kits on them.
problem is that its almost impossible to get the pontiac parts here in aus. the chev parts are all over the place. i wanted to make my calais look like a pontiac, after searching the next and trying to get prices from the states i gave up.
arent the parts for the pontiac made here anyway? or has the bumpers, bonnet etc being brought over?!
