Groupe PSA local distributor Sime Darby has recalled two of its models in Australia due to a potential problem with the door locks.
The carmaker has identified a weakness with the door locks, which may cause the internal mechanism to jam.
Should the lock jam, occupants may not be able to close the vehicle doors. Also, jammed locks may enable doors to be opened even in the ‘locked’ position.
This could create a hazard for the vehicle’s occupants.
The recall process will involve an inspection of all four door locks, with replacement locks fitted if necessary.
The Peugeot 308 was also recalled by Groupe PSA in March, along with the Peugeot 2008, Peugeot 4007 and Citroen’s Berlingo van.
Owners are encouraged to contact their local Peugeot or Citroen dealer to organise for the recall to be carried out. Affected owners should also contact their local dealer should they require further information.
