Seems there’s a rash of interesting bikes heading our way thanks, no doubt, to the new LAMS laws and the rapid growth in two-wheeler sales. (In 2007, of every eleven ‘vehicles’ sold in Australia, one of those sales was of a motorcycle or scooter.)

Suzuki's new 2009 road-trail DR-Z400S is another entrant to this booming market, due to arrive in showrooms in coming weeks.

Featuring an all-new white on white livery, a 4-stroke, liquid cooled DOHC engine, and rugged construction, the new DR-Z400S features a streamlined design allowing for low engine positioning and a slim rider-friendly chassis. This, according to Suzuki Australia, will ensure rider comfort while improving overall handling. On that, the jury can remain out until we’ve had some reviews and rider feedback.

Available at Suzuki dealers in the coming weeks, at $7,990 (RRP inc. GST), there is nothing at all wrong with the price of the new Suzuki DR-Z400S
