Styling both inside and out has been revised for next year, and the update also includes new exterior colour schemes.
Described by its maker as “strong and expressive”, the updated Picasso siblings score a new front end look, new 17-inch alloy wheels and a “3D effect” for the tail lamps.
A two-tone roof is available on the C4 Picasso, while a new “Silver” roof arch colour can be had with the Grand C4 Picasso. New exterior colours include Lazuli Blue, Sand Grey and Steel Grey.
Inside, the Picassos offer a dash-mounted 12-inch infotainment screen including Vision 360 and satellite navigation, along with a seven-inch touchscreen mounted below. Four customisable interior design schemes are available.
The tailgate can now be operated hands-free, using a swiping motion from the user’s foot.
The C4 Picasso measures 4440mm long, 1830mm wide and 1610mm high, while the Grand stretches these measurements to 4600mm long and 1630mm high while retaining the same width.
Safety features include park-assist, adaptive cruise control, speed limit sign recognition, lane-departure warning and driver-attention alert.
“For us, the new Citroen C4 Picasso is a showcase of our finest know-how,” Citroen CEO Linda Jackson said.
“In addition to its unique, modern and dynamic styling, it offers an incomparable level of comfort. With its architecture and the EMP2 platform, it brings motorists spaciousness, modularity and on-road qualities that enhance the well-being of all passengers.”
Currently, the C4 Picasso is available in Australia as a single, five-seat variant powered by a 121kW/240Nm 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine matched with a six-speed automatic.
The Grand C4 Picasso adds two seats for a total of seven, and power comes from a 2.0 litre turbo-diesel engine making 110kW/370Nm, matched with a six-speed auto.
The refreshed Picassos gain the option of a 96kW/230Nm 1.2 litre three-cylinder petrol engine in various markets, matched again with a six-speed auto, but whether this engine will be available in Australia or not is unclear.
The 2017 Citroen C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso are due to arrive in Australia next year, with local pricing and features to be confirmed closer to launch.
