Jaguar has recalled its XE range in Australia this week, due to a potential problem with the driver’s side seatbelt.

The carmaker has identified a problem with the seatbelt pre-tensioner, which may not operate as intended when required.

Should the pre-tensioner fail during a collision, there may be an increased risk of injury to the driver.

The recall affects only 2017 year-model XEs, with a total of 66 vehicles targeted in Australia across a specific range of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs).

The rectification process will involve a rewire of the Restraints Control Module connector by an authorised Jaguar retailer.

The carmaker also recalled its XE model last month, along with XF models, due to a possible under-bonnet fuel leak.

Jaguar will attempt to contact affected owners shortly, but any owner wishing to learn more about the latest round of recalls should contact their local dealer.
