The Haval stand at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show will feature the carmaker’s newest model - the H7 SUV.
Sitting below the H8, the H7 is tagged “a new luxury benchmark” by Haval as it looks to gain traction in markets outside its home country of China.
Haval has already claimed the title of ‘China’s best-selling SUV manufacturer’, and has expanded to outside markets including Australia.
A late 2017 launch for Australia is on the cards, but Haval is yet to confirm timing or its arrival. Should the H7 join the range, Australia will be the first right-hand-drive market to see the new model.
Haval says the H7 will bring new levels of safety to the brand, including autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning and adaptive cruise control.
Power will come from a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine matched with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 0-100km/h sprint will take nine seconds.
Besides the H7, Haval said visitors to the Beijing Auto Show can also expect to see two concepts at the Haval stand.
The H7 could face stiff opposition in the midsized SUV class in Australia from the likes of Toyota’s RAV4, Hyundai’s Tucson and the Mazda CX-5.
