Known overseas as the Megane Estate, Renault has chosen the up-spec GT version to showcase the new wagon’s looks and features.
The GT brings Renault Sport’s “hallmark DNA” to the Megane wagon package, including the ‘4CONTROL’ system which Renault says is a world-first in the C-segment wagon market.
4Control uses rear-wheel steering to improve high-speed stability, cornering and suspension performance, which adds-up to “unprecedented driver enjoyment and a driving experience that is both sporty and safe”.
Inside, customers can choose from a list of boot arrangements, and Renault says the cargo area is the longest in the class.
Outside, the Megane wagon builds upon the hatch’s styling with chrome trim around the side windows and matte anodised aluminium roof bars (Dark Metal on the GT). The GT also scores a chrome exhaust tip and sculpted diffuser at the rear.
The new Renault Megane wagon is set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week, ahead of a 2017 arrival in Australia. Stay tuned to TMR for more.
