2008 Yamaha TT-R230A

Yamaha Australia has released the 2008 version of its road legal TT-R230 dirt bike with full lighting kit, speedo, indicators and mirrors to ensure it complies with Oz Design Regs and can be ridden on the road. (Sometimes, as you know, the toughest challenges are not out on the trail but in the tangled corridors of regulation.)

The versatile 230cc dirt-squirter, with compact wheelbase, low seat height and YZ-style diamond-type frame, offers manoeuvrability and responsive handling whether used as a commuter or out in the bush.

It’s a good option for beginner riders. The broad powerband of the TT-R’s air-cooled, SOHC, 4-stroke engine (with electric start), mated to a six-speed transmission, provides predictable power with instant hook-up both on the tarmac and on the trail.

Ultra-reliable CD ignition system, automatic cam-chain tensioner and hassle-free, push-button starting add up to a neat user-friendly package. And, like all Yamahas, the TT-R230A is equipped with DataDotDNA theft protection.

All the ADR components are easily removed should you wish to strip the TT-R230A down for the trail.

Good thinking at a reasonable $5999 inc GST (RRP).

Man, how do people stay on these things! The minute you give it a handful of throttle, how does your *** not slide right off the back? Haha...
