Gather around, girls and boys. Come and take a look at Ford’s newest baby. It probably believes it might grow up to be a Fiesta or a Focus, holding tightly to dreams of finally becoming a Mondeo XR5 Turbo (which we’ll be road testing next week, incidentally), but alas; Ford’s little baby it’ll always be.
The 2009 Ford Ka, which will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show, is said to be a Fiat 500 under the covers, tuned—oddly—for firmer handling, and may even see itself decked out with the Abarth’s 1.4 litre engine as an ST model. Cripes, imagine all that raw power! Seriously though, it oughta be a little hoot to drive, and it’s certainly got the looks. It’s somewhere between conservative and wild, and this correspondent reckons it’s a choice blend.
