Nissan R35 GT-R Crashed by Top Gear Magazine

Accidents do happen - even for the guys at Top Gear magazine. The damage you see above is believed to be the outcome of a ‘tap’ in the rear by an Audi R8 during testing on the Isle of Man.

This is the same black GT-R that Nissan took to the Goodwood Festival of Speed (post crash), the weekend before last - where it looked as new.

A bent R35 isn’t a good thing - at all - but it’s kind of comforting to know that the Top Gear journos are as ‘ham fisted’ as the rest of us.

Now, I wonder how the front of the Audi R8 faired?

Hopefully they’ll make this a regular feature.

“We take two of the world’s best supercars…and crash them into one another.”

Says something about the brakes on the GT-R compared to the R8 maybe?

Oh well, these press fleet vehicles meet their fates at the crusher anyways.

Im thinking the Audi looks worse………brakes or was the Audi drafting the GT-R Godspeed ?

Bahaha, nice :D

Just watched TG last evening here in the UK. The GTR did the TG circuit in 1m19.7secs. amazing car which I cannot see the real supercars catching for some time.

Wheres you avatar Missile. Hows yah doing down under. I’m off to the London motor show next wednesday. Can’t wait.

Second that Cupid, was just saying in the new thread about TGs laptime, there is nothing in the vicinity of that lap time that costs that little yet can take four people and their luggage. It’s truly amazing.

Hey ya Cupid, got it back 4 you! Im imagining the London Motor show will be a tad larger than the Perth one Golfy and I attended earlier this year,I envy you!

Wait till next weeks episode then Godspeed, the trio do the Silverstone 24 hour in a diesel BMW!

Yeah I think the R8 was a little too close to the GT-R, but due to lack of braking, not greater acceleration of course!

Still owe you for telling me about finalgear BM! Saw JC’s Fuji Speedway review of the R35 last night :P

Does sound like the GTR’s brakes are better.
The Nissan GT-R has huge front and rear Brembo fully ventilated drilled steel brakes.
Audi has equip the R8 5.2 FSI quattro with ceramic brake disks.

i think Brembo is the way to go.

R8 has 8 spots on the front - braking is outstanding - how do I know - cause I own one! Who knows why they came together - probably more to do with the drivers than the cars?
