Ever wondered how a carmaker goes about determining the best way to camouflage its test cars? Turns out, there's a bit more to it than just taping on a few sheets of vinyl.

To fill you in, Ford Australia has handed down a fourth new teaser for its coming 2015 Falcon sedan today, and the second teaser for the returning XR8.

Today's new video (bottom of article) sees Prototype Build Coordinator, Neil Trickey, describing the steps involved in keeping us from seeing Ford's new models in detail.

Handy, then, that the video offers a new look at a handful of the new XR8's styling features - including a clear shot of the sedan's doors and roofline.

The new video follows a teaser image released last week that reveals the redesigned ‘XR’ badge that will sit in the grille and on the body of the reborn hero.

That image and today's clip combines with shots over the past week that have offered a close-quarters look at the front and rear lights of the updated Falcon.

Official word of the XR8’s return came in November, as Ford moved to inspire enthusiasm for the ‘FH’ Falcon range ahead of its debut later this year - the last Falcon we’re ever likely to see.

The announcement of the long-hoped for return was bittersweet for fans however, with news of the FPV brand’s shutdown coming the same day.

As the last last eight-cylinder in the range, the 2014 XR8 will be driven by the Miami engine that powers models in the FPV range.

Ford has yet to confirm specifications for the ‘new’ XR8, but fans will be hoping for some FPV spirit to be passed down to the - including the 335kW tune of the FPV GT.

That would likely also see other features from the FPV brochure come across to the final XR8, including Brembo brakes and an enhanced suspension package.
