Lexus Breaks New Ground in TV Commercial

Spending hundreds of thousands on a CGI TV commercial? Bah! With its new telly ad, Lexus has tried something a little simpler, a bit more grassroots, significantly more enjoyable, and a heck of a lot more poignant.

The video above shows NASCAR driver Scott Pruett chucking a Lexus IS-F around a race track, while James Sloyan—actor and longtime voice of Lexus USA's usually more tame commercials—attempts to read some marketing mumbo from a sheet of paper.  It really is 30 seconds of genius and a bloody good indication of how much fun the IS-F can obviously be.

Come on Lexus Australia, sort it out!

Hey, that looks a bit like the corkscrew at Laguna Seca. Fun!

That was a witty departure from Lexus' norm. Nice find, Mike! Though, you can be sure that Lexus did spend six figures on that ad.

That is a pretty funny ad. Very un-Lexus.
