Citroen Technospace Concept Previews New C4 Picasso Minivan

TMR Team | Feb 8, 2013

Citroen will roll out a new compact people-mover concept at next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed the Technospace.

The French carmaker is keeping few secrets on the Technospace's purpose, describing the compact van as a preview of its next-generation C4 Picasso.

While the Australian market has offered only the larger C5 Picasso, the European range includes both the C4 and C5 versions, along with the smaller C3 Picasso.

On the styling front, the Technospace brings a bold new look for the Citroen brand, with its familiar chevron badge trim stretching along the top of narrow LED headlights, flanked by larger driving lights beneath.

The trademark corner window between the A-pillar and front door frame remains, as does the tapering roofline to a big tailgate, identifying the concept as a Picasso.

Measuring 4.43m longe and 1610mm tall, the Technospace is slightly smaller than the current C4 Picasso, but it is also around 70kg lighter. Rear storage capacity is listed at 537 litres with all seats upright.

A production debut for the new C4 Picasso should not be far away, with spy photos captured in early 2012 revealing that development is nearing completion.

Citroen will reveal more details for the Technospace in Geneva next month.
