2014 SsangYong Stavic Revealed Ahead Of Australian Launch

TMR Team | Feb 7, 2013

SsangYong's new Stavic people mover, sold overseas as the Rodius and Korando Turismo, has been revealed this week.

Debuting online ahead of its Geneva premiere, the early unveiling of the new Stavic follows a handful of revealing photos captured at a dealer event earlier this month.

The new Stavic goes on sale in Korea in the coming weeks, and is expected to make its way to Europe and Australia later this year.

Measuring 5130mm long and riding on a 3-metre wheelbase, the new Stavic, like its predecessor, can seat up to 11 passengers.

Two engines will be offered, including SsangYong's familiar 115kW 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel and, later in the year, a 3.2 litre petrol V6.

Six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmissions will be offered, and all-wheel-drive will also be available in some markets.

On the styling front, the new Stavic gets a new Actyon Sports-inspired front end design, while the rear features a new evolution of the familiar Mercedes-like D-pillar design.

Watch for this one to hit Australia in the coming year.

What was once voted the world's ugliest car has had a metamorhposis. I wouldn't not consider that if I wanted a big people mover now.

Wonder what slash and burn Ateco will do with it now that they have seen fit to shrink the range to a ridiculous two models (actyon sport and Korando) for the Aussie market.
