2014 Toyota Corolla Sedan Surfaces

TMR Team | Feb 6, 2013

Revealing new photos of Toyota's upcoming 2014 Corolla sedan have surfaced online this week, offering a first look at the new hatch's four-door companion.

The images reveal that the new sedan will follow in the tyre treads of its predecessor, sharing styling similarities with the hatch while bringing its own unique look.

The new sedan adopts the same sharp new lines and tight angles worn by Toyota's new Camry, Corolla hatch and RAV4, and a connection with the recent Furia concept can also be seen.

Details for the source of these spy photos are thin on the ground, and it remains unclear if this new Corolla will be sold globally or if it will be kept to certain markets.

The Furia concept was confirmed to preview a future small sedan for the US market, and with the styling similarities slight, it is possible the left-hand-drive sedan shown here is intended for Europe.

A replacement for the current Corolla sedan sold in Australia since 2007 has yet to be revealed, and it remains to be seen if this spied four-door is bound for our shores.

If this new sedan does make its way to Australia, expect it to draw power from the same 103kW/173Nm four-cylinder petrol engine that drives the new hatch model.

It is likely this new Corolla will appear at next month's Geneva Motor Show. Keep an eye on TMR for more details as they come to light.

There are too many cut-off line scattered over the entire bodywork and that rear bumper looks really clumsy.

I think Toyota should stick to bland - it does that so well.
This is a departure and its not done well.

Looks like a pretty serious improvement to me, so I'll guess we'll see how it goes.

You can tell where Toyota got their inspiration for their new Corolla... Honda.

C'mon Toyota, you have had the car at roughly the same power, at least increase the power or keep the same power but push it's petrol range beyond what we have ever seen before!
