The finalists for the 2013 World Car of the Year awards have been announced this week, ahead of the 'big reveal' at next month's New York Auto Show.
Two lists have been revealed, one covering the overall World Car of the Year awards, and the second focusing on the World's best performance car launches of the year.
Last year's WCotY and WPCotY awards went to a pair of Volkswagen Group models, the VW Up city car, and the all-new Porsche 911.
Read on for this year's hopefuls, and click through to each model for more.
The finalists for the 2013 World Car of the Year are:
- Audi A3
- Land Rover Range Rover
- Mazda6
- Mazda CX-5
- Mercedes-Benz A-Class
- Peugeot 208
- Porsche Boxster/Cayman
- Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ
- Volkswagen Golf
- Volvo V40
Finalists for the 2013 Performance Car of the Year:
- Aston Martin Vanquish
- Audi RS 5
- BMW M6 Coupe/Convertible

The Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ twins were awarded TMR's 2012 Best Buy and, like the Boxster and Cayman, their appearance in both lists here suggests a strong chance for at least one win.
Volkswagen could also take back-to-back wins in both categories, with the all-new Golf and the new Boxster both standout launches in the past year.
Let us know below which models you expect to win this year's World Car and World Performance Car awards.
