The floodgates have broken, folks. Here’s yet another speculative rendering of what the next-gen Mazda 3 might look like, and I have to say, I’m not sure which one I prefer.
According to InfoMotori, this is a concept their designer has put together based on rumours, likely platform, and the lines of the new models and the various Mazda concepts we’ve been seeing over the past year or so. Virtually production ready, this is probably the most viable looking concept I’ve seen thus far and, frankly, pretty close to what I’d imagine the finished product to look like. if anything, the shape of the headlights fall a little short of the accepted Mazda language, and the Taiki-like front bar probably wouldn’t make the cut either.

This concept looks like a concept car, even though it has nicer styling points (except for the bent-metalwork look on the front doors) the previous concept looked more production ready and realistic than this one
Really? I don’t see anything in this one that couldn’t very easily reach production. The Taiki-style front bar perhaps wouldn’t, but the rest is already well within the styling of existing Mazda models…
Yeah the window line follows the Mazda 2 styling. Overall it reminds me of the mid-90s Astina hatch; a good looking car.
When you think about it, the car will have to have huge wheels (like the ones in the picture) to make it look half-decent. With the 15’s or 16’s which will probably be standard it will look grossly under-wheeled
Cripes, those rear doors look hard to get through!
Personally I prefer the other design from a few days ago. It’s a shame there wasn’t a skerrick of truth to it…
When will they bring back a 3 door/coupe?
Remember the 323 SS / TX3 of the late 80’s.
The front bonnet seems really short along with the rear doors, maybe its the photograph playing games. Whatever way even if it grows a bit it decent enouogh to knock Fords boring looking Focus sales.
isn’t this the one that was from the competition?!?! apparently there was a competition held in america where someone had to draw up concept of the 3 and then during one of the car shows, they actually made the car in front of everyone.
