Mercedes-Benz' new CLA has been given an unscheduled unveiling, with a handful of leaked images surfacing online this week.
For its part, Mercedes has been far from secretive during the CLA's development, releasing powertrain details and footage of a lightly camouflaged prototype in cold-weather testing.
Power for the AMG model will be drawn from the same 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine powering the A 45 AMG hatch, producing upwards of 245kW and 400Nm.
The CLA 45 AMG will also get the same 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system bound for the hatch, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
In the regular CLA, engine options will likely again mirror the A-Class, including a 90kW CLA 180 and 115kW CLA 200, both powered by turbo 1.6 petrol engine.
A sub-AMG range-topper in the CLA 250 is also likely, its 2.0 litre turbo engine producing 155kW and 350Nm of torque.
Watch for more details in the coming weeks.
