Tasmanian motorists will soon get three new choices when ordering number plates, with the release this week of additional colour and design options.

Kicking off a new 'Classic Range' in the TasPlates catalogue, two of the new options will include a black-on-silver colourway, along with the inverted silver-on-black option.

A third option will open the new 'Sport & Leisure' category, featuring a checkerplate background design. Available for cars and motorcycles (checkerplate for cars only), the new options will start from $295.

“We saw with the release of the Kaleidoscope range back in March that Tasmanian consumers are open to new plate styles," Lucy Bourke, Marketing Manager for TasPlates said.

"We believe the Classic plates will appeal to those who prefer traditional colour combinations while the checkerplate was created for the Tasmanian tradie who is looking for the prefect finishing touch to his Ute or work vehicles.”

Available from November 15, the new plates can be ordered online at or by calling 1300 787 060.
